Your role

Join PC Indiana as an Industrial Engineer where you will implement a Lean Manufacturing concept / process on the existing production facility. You will also be an active member of the new product development (NPD) process, to introduce new parts, in due time. As part of the Engineer team, you will report to the Methods Engineer and work with operations and Engineering onsite in Michigan City, IN.

Main responsibilities

  • You will focus on meeting our KPI's.
  • Analyze workstations to eliminate work related injuries
  • 5S implementation and support
  • Implement PokaYoke solutions through electric/DC tools and operator guidance systems.
  • Provide SOPs for process standardization and training to new operators.
  • Identify automation projects to improve safety, quality and delivery.
  • Support in maintaining and improving the QMS and ISO 9001 certification
  • Design Flexible production setup & tools able to assemble different products
  • Reduce rework by an active root cause analysis from first time right issues
  • Ensure equipment / tools maintenance to avoid line stoppage
  • Design a world class line balancing, with the lowest Throughput time, with use of techniques like AVIX, and the design of the most efficient & ergonomic stations, allowing different combination according to the volumes seasonality.
  • You will implement a Lean Manufacturing concept / process on the existing production facility.
  • You will be an active member of the new product development (NPD) process, to introduce new parts, in due time
  • Participate in project team meetings to ensure design for assembly for new products
  • Prepare the line setup (tooling, equipment, line balancing.) to accommodate new products on existing line / new line set
  • Perform a PFMEA to optimize the Line performance
  • Define new Working instructions for the operators, with eventually training
  • Validate and improve the prototype
  • Manage the design Notification
  • You will contribute to a Kaizen & Innovation Process by.
  • Benchmark competition and market technology trends, to bring new way of working that could increase Quality and Cost leadership (Virtual Reality, Augmented reality, AGV, Automation, AVIX, MES, ...)
  • Develop networking in industry, other PCs, Divisions, to have the best supplier base using the best production process.
  • Contribute in PTM & TCM teams to improve Quality and Cost
  • Lead the Kaizen Visual Board from operators to introduce Quickly their ideas
  • Create best practices by formalizing the Assembly knowledge
  • You will be an active member of the "Master plan project execution"
  • Ensure that the manufacturing process and facility is completely defined and suitable for the intended factory output plans. This following the Vacuum Technique Production Systems roadmap.
  • Identify project opportunities through application of own expertise and usage of tools such as Value Stream mapping, Time Study and Capacity Models.
  • Build smart factory road map and work with team to accomplish target
  • Lead factory digital project such as MES implementation, IIoT/Machine Connectivity
  • Lead factory automation projects.
  • Training of related manufacturing systems, such as MES, visual management tools, digital SOPs
  • You will be a part of the logistic setup and develop the supply methods.
To succeed, you need
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Process Engineering with 1+ yrs experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Technical knowledge of vacuum pumps, compressors, engines, coolers or electric panels. is preferred
  • You understand and can implement lean manufacturing concepts, automation and technology trends like Industry 4.0.
  • You have experience with IT tools such as line balancing AVIX, ERP, Factory Setup.
  • You are fluent in English, as this is our internal language.
