Position Description

Responsibilities:   The Pipelines & Terminals I&E Engineer will assist in the overall direction and coordination of I&E engineering work within the Pipelines & Terminals Department.  This person will be a key contributor in the accomplishment of the I&E engineering department duties, which include:
  • Engineering project development, design, execution and oversight of the Instrument, Electrical and Cathodic Protection (I,E&CP) Systems, including cathodic protection, medium and low voltage power, pipeline and truck loading automation systems (SCADA, TAS, PLC, PID controllers, HMI, etc.)
  • Assisting in the implementation of regulatory compliance measures for I,E&CP issues
  • Development and implementation of standards based operating procedures and policies for I,E&CP systems.
-  Assisting in the development, implementation and documentation of Management of Change (MOC) policies and/or programs
  • Development of projects and procedures aimed at improving the effectiveness of I,E&CP systems
  • Assisting in development, implementation and documentation of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assist in I,E&CP work related to integrity management and GIS projects.
  • Assist in the process for developing annual capital and/or expense budgets
  • Maintain and stress Safety of Operations
 
Required Qualifications:
  1. B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, other engineering degree may be considered
  2. NACE Cathodic Protection Specialist or higher or equivalent
  3. Self-motivated, self-directed and detail oriented with a “finish to completion” mindset.
  4. Effective communication skills (both technical & non-technical, verbal and written)
  5. Knowledge/Experience w/ control system configuration, layout and troubleshooting, i.e. PLC, ladder logic, PID and control theory
  6. Ability to interpret, implement, generate and validate I&E schematics and drawings.
  7. Knowledge of metering systems, i.e. flow computers, meters, meter provers and associated standards
  8. Knowledge/Experience w/ SCADA systems and networks, including fiber optic, wireless and satellite
  9. Diverse computer skills in the areas of CADD, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Database, SCADA/PLC/PID programming, CP management and scheduling software.
  10. Team oriented
 
Preferred Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will have demonstrable engineering experience with applicable knowledge of liquid petroleum pipeline & terminal operations.
